COVID-19 Coronavirus Response

Last updated: November 18, 2020

As we address this challenge day-by-day, we are taking the following steps to ensure the health and safety of our partner families, staff, volunteers and everyone we work with in the community:

Volunteers – NEW!

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the state of Maryland and Governor Larry Hogan’s most recent updates, we have decided to suspend volunteer activities for the remainder of 2020 as on Monday, November 23, 2020 on our Construction sites. While we appreciate everyone who has joined us already, and those who continue to show interest, we feel that this is the safest course of action. We will continue to monitor the State’s orders and update everyone in the New Year.

Happy Holidays!

    ReStores

On May 13, 2020, Governor Larry Hogan implemented Phase One of Maryland’s Roadmap to Recovery, allowing certain businesses to reopen. The Chesapeake ReStores will be among those businesses, re-opening our doors with limited days and hours beginning Wednesday, May 27.  To ensure the safety of our customers and staff, we are implementing new safety precautions and procedures, readying our stores and employees with the proper PPE to ensure that we offer our customers, staff and donors a confident ReStore experience. We are also making plans to secure donations via curbside pick up. For a list of update safety procedures please click here.

    New ReStore Operating Hours:

    Wednesday – Sunday 10:00am – 6:00pm.

The Sandtown ReStore will remain closed until further notice.

We will be following the Center for Disease Control (CDC)’s recommendations closely, and encourage you to review them, as well. We aim to match our decisions with the best, most up-to-date information available and promise to be responsible and timely in making and communicating decisions via our website, Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as through email (sign up for email alerts here).

On behalf of Habitat Chesapeake’s staff, board and, most of all, our partner families, thank you for your continued support in this extraordinary time.
